A workshop to learn how to use some of the wonderful plants growing in our gardens and countryside. Includes practical sessions making tinctures, ointments, syrups and other herbal remedies. You will have the opportunity to discuss the herbs in detail and create remedies from fresh herbs.
Date: Saturday 18th March 2017
Time: 10am to 4pm
Location: Meadow Herbs Clinic
Morning session: Introduction and seminar
The day begins with an introductory session over a herbal cup of tea, which will give you a chance to meet Su and the other course members. Su will then introduce the herbs which will provide the focus for this session. These are likely to include dandelion root and burdock root, nettles, cleavers and chickweed. With Su’s help you will have the opportunity to make some remedies from the herbs you have discussed.

Afternoon Session: Making herbal ointments and tinctures
Following on from the morning session we will make ointments, tinctures and syrups with simple herbs, while discussing their uses and benefits for safe and effective treatments. Enjoy some of Su’s delicious homemade cake as we reflect on the day.
Notes will be provided and samples created throughout the workshop will be included in the price of the workshop. Basic vegetarian lunch is included along with refreshments throughout the day (please let us know of any specific dietary requirements). Course runs from 10am to 4pm at Meadow Cottage Clinic.
